REBOUND RAID
She planned to make him green with envy, but he ended up red with rage
My ex-boyfriend is an undercover cop — naturally hotheaded with a habit of popping up unannounced. After over a year of dating, our plans to head down the aisle came to a screeching halt when he found out I cheated. But I wasn’t ready to let the relationship go. So, I planned to win him back the best way I knew how — by making him jealous.
I was home with an unsuspecting rebound when my doorbell rang. I wasn’t expecting my ex, but leave it to him to notice a BMW with fraternity plates in my driveway. As soon as I opened the door, he barged inside, knocked me out of the way, and marched up to my bedroom looking for the frat guy “f*cking” his ex-girlfriend. My poor rebound was so frightened he hid.
My ex came back downstairs and ordered me to sit on the couch. When my rebound came out and tried to scurry out the front door, my ex yelled, “You! Sit down!”
“I’m not trying to get between y’all,” he replied, quivering.
At this point, I was livid. It was my half-cocked idea to make him jealous, but I didn’t think my evening would turn into an episode of Cops. He allowed my rebound to leave and we continued to argue about why I let another man in my house. The night ended horribly with a shouting match and tears. It was clear that I wasn’t winning anybody back — nor did I want to at this point.
This little “episode” marked the end of my relationship. And I finally laid the jealousy and underhanded schemes to rest.
