Resisting the urge to buy your own coffee machine? Think your day wont be complete without a brewed blend of that delectable espresso? How about that frothy cup of cappuccino or macchiato? Been brave enough for months bearing all those long lines on the counter finally hearing your name and off you go with your hot concoction? Thanks to the wonderful innovations nowadays you can actually make and enjoy your favorite cup on the convenience of your very own home.
Millions of people around the world start their day off with a cup of coffee. Some will brew a cup at home while others may get theirs at a coffeehouse. If you are thinking about purchasing a new coffee maker you should consider the advantages of the new single serve machines that are available on the market. One advantage of single serve coffee machines is that they use something called a pod to brew the desired coffee. A pod contains enough coffee to brew one cup of coffee. Because of this there is not a need to make a whole pot any more.
There are several different kinds of single serve coffee machines on the market but I have a Keurig coffee machine. For the Keurigs coffee machines there are over 250 different kinds of coffee to choose from. They call their pod a K-cup. K-cups come in the caffeinated and non-caffeinated versions as well. So you are essentially able to brew a gourmet-style cup of coffee in the comfort of your own home at any time of the day.
Other similar coffee machines use a tube in the center to pump the water to the top where it drops back down over the coffee grounds. They are coffee percolators and coffee urns and come in varying sizes. Urns have greater serving sizes that go as high as 60 cups for home use. Another coffee machine makes coffee by putting coffee in the bottom of a cylinder which is usually glass. A filter the size of the inside of the cylinder is then pressed down to the bottom producing the coffee. These coffee machines have names such as French press water press a press pot coffee press coffee plunger or cafetière.
